No DUI and still lose your license for 2 years?!!!!

Recently met with a client who went to court to plead guilty to DUI.  After he pleads, the prosecutor has him arrested for another DUI because she thinks he is on drugs and drove to court.  He fails to request a hearing with the DLD and as a result, now his his license suspended for 2 YEARS!  Here’s the kicker….the second DUI charge is dismissed because lab results show he wasn’t using anything.  Too late, the DLD has already suspended the license for 2 years.  He isn’t aware that he can appeal and get his license back and now its too late.  All of this because he failed to get an attorney.  Was it worth it?
